SUSTAINABILITY Emergency response planning

Emergency response planning

For credible failure modes that potentially result in crises, Golden Mine Projects operations have established and implemented site-specific emergency preparedness and response plans (EPRPs). The EPRP's goal is to prevent, alleviate, or limit the consequences of an emergency. Site-specific dam breach inundation assessments feed all of our EPRPs, including communications and evacuation warning.

At every site, Golden Mine Projects endeavors to establish a range of thresholds linked to escalating risks concerning TSF overtopping or embankment stability issues. Comprehensive risk management measures will be outlined and explained for each threshold level to avert any disruptions or unforeseen circumstances.

The objective is to carry out annual drills and training exercises for emergency responses at all our sites. This ensures a collective state of preparedness for plausible tailings facility flow failure scenarios.
