Shared value creation

Prioritising host community procurement and employment

Golden Mine Projects is dedicated to prioritising local sourcing and employment, as well as assessing our contribution to local economic growth. In this case:

  • Golden Mine Projects assesses expenditure at the operational level, specifically within the host country and local communities.
  • Within South Africa, Golden Mine Projects is committed to various initiatives aimed at promoting local economic development by supporting local suppliers through its social and labor plan.
  • Golden Mine Projects also undertakes shared value projects in Australia, Chile, Ghana, Peru, and South Africa, with a focus on nurturing suppliers and fostering enterprise development in host communities.

Creating shared value

Golden Mine Projects is dedicated to keeping at the forefront of best practises in sustainable sourcing.

To this end, Golden Mine Projects’ supply chain teams endeavour to:

  • Incorporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) terminology, as well as governance and compliance language and requirements, into tender/contract papers.
  • Utilise the company's collective purchasing power to create social benefits that go beyond the items and services required by our operations, particularly in the host communities where we operate.
  • Increase our human rights due diligence activities in our supply chain; and
  • Spend as much as possible with host community companies and actively support their development.
